In modern usage the body of water in northern Canada is referred to as Hudson Bay, but the trading company is properly called the Hudson's Bay Company. All entries referring to this company are entered under the traditional Hudson's form; other entries are shown under Hudson, even though the longer form may have been used for them in earlier times. See also H.B., H.B.C. etc.
